As 2018 draws to a close, we reflect on another great year for GSCU! One standout moment was being recognized as a Best Company to Work For by Business NH Magazine.
As a credit union striving to deliver the best possible service to our membership, we believe that starts with hiring great people, valuing our employees, and cultivating a positive work environment.
We continually assess our benefits package and seek new and unique ideas. We are pleased to offer tuition reimbursement to encourage the growth and development of our staff, and to support them as they achieve their higher education goals. We encourage employee involvement in the community by offering paid time off to volunteer. Other fun benefits include an onsite fitness center and roof deck at our largest location in Manchester, as well as the ability to wear jeans on certain days of the week.
We extend our culture of appreciation and good will into the community with our Street Team and Good Neighbor Initiatives. Employees are invited to participate in these events, which range from purchasing Christmas trees for community members, to volunteering at NH Food Bank. In 2018, each employee was given $100 to donate to a charity of their choice. We believe that a great work culture reaches beyond our physical walls – it reaches into the communities we serve.
Fostering a positive work environment also involves a strong belief in our core values – integrity, commitment, accountability, respect, innovation, and passion. Not only do we proudly display these values on our branch walls, we invite employees to tell us how they demonstrate these qualities through our Values in Motion campaign.
We end each year with an Employee Appreciation dinner. This event celebrates our hard working employees and recognizes their contributions throughout the year. Staff members mingle with their colleagues across all locations, including Executive Management, while enjoying raffles, a photo booth, and more!
Looking toward 2019, we are poised to enhance our Learning & Development programs as well as our wellness initiatives. We continue to welcome staff ideas and feedback through various channels, and we remain committed to offering opportunities for growth and development. While we are a great place to work, we strive to become even better. At Granite State Credit Union, we work as a team to provide members with a better banking experience. And that is achieved by cultivating the best team possible!
